The Refurbishment of the Dining Room and Kitchen at Belgrave Hall, Leicester.
The objective was to show a table set for the last course of a dinner or six people in August c.1900. The Museum wanted to display the original dining room furniture by Edward Gimson that they had in their collection so it was decided to omit a white linen tablecloth. August was chosen as a popular month for visitors to the Hall and to enable replica food to be created using apples, quinces and mulberries which would have been available on the Belgrave Estate at this time.
